Add of The Week: WR Josh Gordon, Cleveland Browns
Recently reinstated by the NFL, Gordon has reported back to the Browns facility and is looking to make his return to the field in their matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers during Week 13. Gordon is familiar with the Browns’ offensive scheme, so acclimating to the system should not be a big worry for him. In Gordon’s last full season in 2013, which was in Cleveland, he had 87 receptions for 1,646. The Browns currently struggle with WR depth, so I wouldn’t be shocked to see Gordon emerge as one of the top targets for this offense in the final quarter remaining in the 2017 season.
Buy, Sell, Hold
Buy: WR Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mike Evans’ stock is at an all-time low right now. He just received a one-game suspension, and his starting QB Jameis Winston has been reportedly sidelined for a few weeks. Step in, Ryan Fitzpatrick—the type of QB willing to force feed his best targets. This right here is where Evans will prosper in the closing weeks of the 2017 season. Evans will maintain his production with Fitzpatrick at the helm, so you should hold if you have him, but absolutely buy if you are granted the opportunity. His value won’t be this low again at any point for the remainder of the season.
Sell: WR T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis Colts
Unlike Evans, Hilton’s value is at a season-high. Coming off a five reception, 175-yard game coupled with two touchdowns, the sky is the limit. The rest of the season is going to be a tough challenge for Hilton and the Colts as they will go up against Tennessee, Jacksonville, Buffalo, Denver, and Baltimore after facing Pittsburgh this upcoming Sunday. Survey what packages you can get in return for Hilton, who has still put up some good numbers with backup QB Jacoby Brissett leading the charge.
Hold: WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, Pittsburgh Steelers
Smith-Schuster has essentially proven himself as the Steelers’ WR2. With the increase in targets headed his way, Smith-Schuster has a healthy matchup with the Indianapolis Colts this upcoming Sunday. If the explosive and expressive WR erupts for a big game against the Colts, you may want to look to trade him after this contest. Keep your eyes peeled for this young playmaker.
