However, the NCAA’s United Soccer Coaches poll has the Demon Deacons at #1 overall, followed by Indiana at number 2.

During the regular season, Wake has had victories against 4 ranked opponents: away at #4 North Carolina, home against #6 Clemson, away at #8 Louisville, and away at #12 Providence. Wake had a 12 game win streak before they tied Syracuse in the final regular season game, which is the longest they have had since their 18 game streak spanning from the end of 2007 continuing into 2008, the year Wake won the NCAA Championship. Wake was the only unbeaten team in the ACC in the regular season with a record of 7-0-1.

Sophomore Jon Bakero from Spain leads the team in points with 14 goals and 14 assists followed by Sophomore Ema Twumasi with 10 goals and 5 assists. Bakero is currently the national leader in assists, and tied for seventh in the nation with goals. The Demon Deacons have a very strong offense and defense with 50 goals for and only 10 goals against through just 16 games, placing them at the number two scoring offense in the nation.
