TARZANA, CA – The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has released security camera footage showing a hit-and-run suspect driving away after allegedly running over a 60-year-old pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.
Hit-and-Run Incident Caught on Camera
The collision occurred on Tuesday morning when the driver of a black Ford F-150 made a left turn onto Clark Street from Reseda Boulevard.
According to investigators, the victim was in the crosswalk when the truck struck him, knocking him to the ground.
Suspect Briefly Checks on Victim, Then Flees
Surveillance video shows the suspect parking his truck on the side of the road and walking over to the injured man as bystanders gathered to help.
However, instead of staying at the scene, the suspect returned to his vehicle and drove away before emergency responders arrived.
Victim in Critical Condition
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) arrived shortly after the collision and transported the 60-year-old victim to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Suspect and Vehicle Description
The suspect was seen in the footage wearing a blue hoodie, a baseball cap, and dark pants. The hoodie had **the words “Philthy **ker” written on the front.
The black Ford F-150 had a couch and two garbage bins in the truck bed at the time of the crash.
