An 87-year-old man in the Bronx was left bloodied and bruised after two men forced their way into his apartment, attacked him, and robbed him. Despite the violent encounter, the elderly victim remains strong enough to share his story, warning others to stay cautious.

Attack at Mitchel Houses in Mott Haven

The terrifying incident occurred at the Mitchel Houses in the Mott Haven neighborhood. According to the victim, who chose to remain anonymous, the ordeal began with a knock on his door. He assumed it was someone from his insurance company delivering important paperwork for his injured back. When he looked through the peephole and saw an envelope, he believed it was safe to open the door.

The moment he unlocked it, one of the intruders shoved him inside, forcing him onto the bed.

Victim Overpowered and Beaten

Despite trying to defend himself, the elderly man was no match for the two attackers.

“He said, ‘No move, no move,'” the victim recalled.

The attackers threw him onto the bed, tied his legs with bedsheets, and restrained his arms behind his back. As they choked him, they repeatedly demanded money.

“I kept telling them, ‘I have no money!’ But they didn’t stop,” he said.

The robbers ransacked his home, searching for cash. Frustrated after finding nothing, one of them pistol-whipped the helpless senior. Blood poured from the wound on his head, requiring several stitches.

“Lot of blood came out, lot of blood,” he described.

Fear Lingers After the Robbery

The attackers stole his wallet, cash, and cellphone before fleeing the scene. Police reported that they were last seen driving off in a black 2018 Honda SUV.

Even after the attack, fear lingers for the elderly man. With his cat, Elliot, in one hand and a screwdriver for protection in the other, he worries they might come back.

“I’m afraid every time I go there,” he admitted.

Police Investigation Underway

Authorities are now searching for the two suspects. They urge anyone with information to come forward and help bring the attackers to justice.

This brutal home invasion serves as a reminder for residents to be cautious when opening their doors, even if the visitor seems familiar or expected.
