Armed Suspect Surrenders After Hours-Long Standoff in Harbor City

HARBOR CITY, CA – A tense standoff between police and an armed suspect came to an end Tuesday evening after hours of negotiations in Harbor City.

Suspect Barricades Himself in Shed

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to reports of a man with a gun at approximately 10:20 a.m. in the 25700 block of Belle Porte Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found the suspect barricaded inside a shed on the property, leading to a prolonged standoff.

Tear Gas Used to End Standoff

After several hours of negotiations, police deployed tear gas to force the suspect out of the shed.

As SkyCal aerial footage captured the scene, the man was seen being loaded into an ambulance and transported to a hospital for treatment. The nature of his injuries remains unknown.

Investigation Ongoing

Authorities have not yet released additional details about the suspect or the charges he may face.
