California Updates the Los Angeles Wildfire Website to Connect Victims With Services

LOS ANGELES — California has updated its Los Angeles wildfire recovery website, offering enhanced tools and services to assist thousands of wildfire survivors still recovering from recent disasters, officials announced Monday.

The update, part of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s ongoing efforts to streamline recovery resources, includes a comprehensive dashboard designed to help individuals and businesses access critical state and federal services.

A Faster, All-in-One Recovery Tool

“We’re moving faster than ever to ensure survivors of these firestorms have all the resources they need to recover,” Newsom said. “For the first time, survivors can access all services available at in-person centers online.”

The updated ca.gov/LAfires website features tools that provide access to:

  • Housing assistance
  • Personal document replacement
  • Employment resources
  • Financial aid for individuals and businesses

Additionally, the website will track recovery efforts in real time, offering data on the number of people assisted, debris removal progress, and air quality updates.

Holding Government Accountable

In a push for greater transparency, the dashboard will also monitor government performance during recovery efforts.

“We’re now tracking recovery efforts in real time to hold ourselves and all levels of government accountable for delivering for Angelenos,” Newsom added.

Over Half a Million Visits Since Launch

The website update comes shortly after the Palisades and Eaton Fires began. Since its launch, the platform has received over 550,000 visits, highlighting its importance to survivors.

Amy Tong, Secretary of the Government Operations Agency, emphasized that the site’s design was driven by survivor needs:
“The outcome of this was solely focused on how to get survivors what they need, and the team was laser-focused on making the new site work for them.”

With thousands of wildfire survivors still facing the challenges of recovery, the updated LA wildfire recovery website offers a streamlined, transparent, and user-friendly tool to access vital resources. As recovery continues, officials remain committed to ensuring survivors get the assistance they need.
