In San Bernardino County, Man Arrested for Murder as Victim Dies 2 Weeks After Shooting

PHELAN, CA – A 59-year-old man has been arrested for murder, more than two weeks after a shooting in unincorporated San Bernardino County left one man dead.

Victim Identified, Dies Days After Shooting

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBSD) said the incident occurred on January 26 at around 1:25 p.m. Deputies responded to a call in the 6300 block of Cayucos Drive in Phelan, where they found 31-year-old Adan Rodriguez suffering from a gunshot wound.

Rodriguez was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remained in critical condition until February 4, when he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigation Leads to Arrest of Suspect

Detectives later determined that the shooting took place at a home on La Mesa Road, but initially had no leads on the suspect.

After Rodriguez’s death, the Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail took over the case. Their investigation led them to 59-year-old Ramiro Liraaro, who was arrested on Sunday.

Liraaro was booked for murder and is currently being held without bail.

Authorities Seeking More Information

The SBSD is urging anyone with additional details about the case to contact the department at (909) 890-4904.
