According to prosecutors, Kandula had a deep fascination with Nazi history, admiring their authoritarian ideology and eugenics. He allegedly told police that he believed Nazis had a “great history” and that he wanted to take over the U.S. government. He even expressed a willingness to assassinate the president if necessary.
Court documents revealed that he had planned the attack for weeks, attempting to secure larger vehicles, armed guards, and an armored convoy from a security company in Virginia.
