Tuesday’s Surprise Show: Fans Race to Get Tickets
On Tuesday afternoon, McCartney stunned fans by announcing a last-minute performance at the Lower East Side venue via his social media channels.
Tickets were just $50 and available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Bowery Ballroom box office.
Fans rushed to the venue:
“There were people running from all directions—subway, bikes, getting out of cars and taxis. Everybody was running,” said Adrienne Dee-Olsen, a McCartney fan.
Setlist and Concert Experience
Attendees were not allowed to use phones or record audio or video during the performance.
McCartney played a mix of hits, including:
- Beatles classics: “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Hey Jude,” “Let It Be.”
- Wings favorites: Tracks from his post-Beatles band.
“It was incredible. This is actually my 10th time seeing Paul McCartney. I have no words for it,” said fan Wendy Miranda.
While McCartney’s stadium concerts often run three hours, fans were grateful for the intimate show:
“I honestly thought he was going to go on for three hours like he usually does, but, you know, I’ll take this,” Miranda added.
