This is a deeply troubling case out of Westchester County. From what’s been reported, Hugo Horacio Perez-Gabriel, a 32-year-old man from New York, is facing serious charges tied to the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old boy, Jonson Temaj, who was later found dead.
Perez-Gabriel was initially charged with concealing a human corpse after the boy’s body was discovered on a sidewalk in New Rochelle on February 6.
Now, new allegations have surfaced that he solicited and received sexual videos from the same boy via WhatsApp before his death, leading to additional charges like Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance and Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors.
The DA’s office is clearly shaken by the gravity of this—Susan Cacace called it “extremely disturbing,” especially since Perez-Gabriel is linked to both the abuse and the disposal of the boy’s body.
They’re still digging into how Jonson Temaj died, so that piece of the puzzle isn’t clear yet. Meanwhile, a 16-year-old has also been arrested in connection to the death, though details on that are thin.
It’s a grim situation, and you can feel the weight of the DA’s commitment to figuring out what happened. The family must be going through hell.
The cause of the boy’s death remains under investigation.
