CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Cameron Hildreth, a senior guard for Wake Forest men’s basketball, has been recognized as the ACC Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. His standout performances were crucial in helping Wake Forest become the first ACC team this season to sweep its West Coast road trip, with victories over Stanford and Cal.
Hildreth’s Impressive Performances
- Against Stanford:
In a 79-73 victory, Hildreth led the team with 22 points, scoring 15 of those in the first half. He shot 7-of-10 from the field and added two steals in 34 minutes on the court. - Against Cal:
During Saturday’s 10-point victory over Cal, the Worthing, England native delivered a team-high 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting, along with:- 5 rebounds
- 5 steals (a career high)
- 3 assists
He played the full 40 minutes, showcasing his endurance and all-around impact on both ends of the floor.
Consistent Scoring and Defensive Excellence
Hildreth has been a scoring force this season, recording 20-plus points in seven ACC games, with five of those performances coming in the last seven games. His five-steal performance against Cal highlighted his defensive prowess, as he now ranks third in the ACC in career steals with 135.
Continuing Wake Forest’s Streak of Honors
With this award, Hildreth becomes the second Demon Deacon to earn ACC Player of the Week honors this season, following Hunter Sallis, who was recognized on Jan. 20. This marks the fourth consecutive season where multiple Wake Forest players have earned the honor.
